OBJ Export for Solid Edge is a Wavefront (.obj) file export add-in for Solid Edge®. This add-in gives Solid Edge the ability to export 3D solid and surface data from a Solid Edge part or assembly document to 3d polygon meshes in an OBJ file.
OBJ Export for Solid Edge tessellates solid bodies in a Solid Edge document into a set of triangular meshes. These meshes are then exported to an OBJ file as mesh objects. The OBJ file can then be imported into a variety of CAD applications.
OBJ Export for Solid Edge is very easy to use. Once installed, it automatically loads itself into Solid Edge and adds a new submenu called "OBJ Export for Solid Edge" to the Solid Edge Applications menu.
The 'OBJ Export for Solid Edge' menu consists of the following commands:
# Export - Export meshes to an OBJ file
# Help - Display the OBJ Export for Solid Edge help file
# Register - Register your copy of OBJ Export for Solid Edge
# About - Display the OBJ Export for Solid Edge About box
OBJ Export for Solid Edge comes with detailed documentation for each command as well as a tutorial to get you started in the shortest possible time.
The OBJ File Format
The OBJ file format is a geometry definition file format first developed by Wavefront Technologies for its Advanced Visualizer animation package. The file format is open and has been adopted by other 3D graphics application vendors, making it a universally accepted geometry file format. The OBJ file format is a simple data format that represents 3D geometry alone - namely, the position of each vertex, the texture coordinate associated with a vertex, the normal at each vertex, and the faces that make each polygon.

OBJ4CAD 2007 - Export OBJ is an AutoCAD 2007, 2008 and 2009 application to export AutoCAD drawing entities to OBJ file (Wavefront). It can export OBJ files from polyface meshes, polygon meshes, faces and 3d solid drawing entities.

SolidEdge Automation Tool that easily extracts 2D and 3D drawings into different image formats (bmp, jpg, etc.) for easy integration with 3rd party software. Integrate SolidEdge drawings with your catalogs, websites, assembly instructions and other printed materials.
SE Image Extractor is used as a batch image export for online and off-line catalogs, assembly instructions and other needs.
SE Image Extractor requires a valid license of Solid Edge installed on the same computer.
Let's take a look at the options that are available in SE Image Extractor:
First, you setup paths to your folders with Solid Edge files. (You can even setup multiple folder sets and custom file filters for each folder).
Then, you can setup the default directories to extract images to and whether to save subassembly and part images. You can specify to hide Solid Edge planes option as well.
At the next step you can specify how to render Solid Edge drawing or not (and rendering format), image format to save as (BMP, JPG or TIFF) and image quality (Low, Medium or High). You can also specify default image width and height and whether to fit image to frame.
You can specify how to work with log files and whether to run extraction automatically on program run and even automatically close SE Image Extractor (for scheduled overnight image updates, so you do not have to have a dedicated Solid Edge license to run SE Image Extractor and use a floating one).
SE Image Extractor can work with your files that are managed by SharePoint and Insight. If you can map a network drive directly to Sharepoint, you can run SE Image Extractor on network folders. If you can not do that, download WebDrive software package that will enable your operating system to map remote Sharepoint folders via VPN, Remote Access, WebDAV and even ftp protocols. |
